Soccer

Claire finally had her last soccer practice today. Due to several rainy Mondays and the Memorial Day holiday, the soccer practices kept getting postponed well into June.

The kids played soccer games with two new coaches today. These two male coaches happened to be really great with the kids. Claire had so much fun and got lots of exercise running around. At the end of the hour, each child received a soccer medal for their participation. Claire was absolutely thrilled to receive an award! It was her first! Hopefully the first of many!

I'm a Soccer Mom!

I am officially a soccer mom! Claire had her first soccer practice today. She's not on a team per se, it's just a clinic of sorts that is offered by our town to all kids ages 3-7. Claire looked sporty as she ran out onto the field with a few of her friends -- Ryan T., Nick, Marlow -- as well as a large group of assorted 5-7 year olds (The 3-5 year old group meets right before this group of "older" kids.). The kids dribbled the ball, played tag, took shots at the goal and periodically stopped and put their heads on the ball, a successful technique used by the coaches to get the kids to stop and listen.

After the practice, Claire was extremely enthusiastic! She said that she loved soccer and she can't wait until the next practice.
